THE ART OF STORY
Your journey into story will include an exploration of not only external stories, but also the many stories within you. This portion of the course will awaken you to deeper truths to be discovered in the art of storytelling. We will take a look at how your unique personal lens will be something of value for you to consider when you work creatively. The Know wraps around being together with other students and understanding story in the context of your own story and in the story of others. It’s learning the story, form and structure, but learning it through the group dynamic; learning it by evaluating film, learning it by looking at stories and considering all the implications that are involved in telling a great story.
Live is where for 2 weeks you will spend time in an immersive environment. You will be alongside one of our other mentors, Randy Brewer, who has been in the business for 25 years and has worked with people like Taylor Swift and Justin Beiber. He has worked with companies like ESPN and Tractor Supply – so everything from commercials, to music videos to documentaries and films, Randy has been a part of it all. To be alongside Randy and his team of people who will come alongside you and teach you, through an immersive experience, what it means to be on a working film set, and how you can immediately (in real time!) experience story production happening all around you.
YOU BECOME THE STORYTELLER
The Tell part of our film school is where you don’t wait to be a storyteller you become a storyteller. You immediately will be given a challenge of creating a story. With your peers you will then use technical tools, actors, story components, and you will create your own story, allowing you to be reviewed, allowing you to have time with your mentors and with your peers to consider your own project about what was great and what needs help. In real time you will get feedback, reviews and learn how to create a project with your mentors looking over your shoulder.
So come join us at the Prodigy Cinema School.
